“Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful parts of us.”

Here’s a bit about me and how my passion of helping others started:
As a child, I was captivated by my grandfather’s stories of serving in WWII in the United States Armed Forces and witnessed the long-lasting effects his near-death experiences had on him decades later. I found it difficult to watch him suffer emotionally on a daily basis with things like flashbacks, anxiety, and withdrawal from his family without being able to provide any comfort or relief. Growing up, that experience motivated me to find ways to help others who also suffer from symptoms of depression, anxiety, traumatic events, and life dissatisfaction, and to provide the support and relief that I so badly wanted to provide to my grandfather when I was younger.
I eventually went on to double-major in History and Psychology in my undergraduate program before obtaining a master’s degree in 2015 in Clinical and Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Trauma Studies. During this time, I gained invaluable experience working with the Veteran population in Philadelphia, PA. After graduation, I completed specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as well as trauma training to become a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.
Today, my focus is helping people who experience anxiety, depression, unwanted and unmanaged symptoms of trauma, relationship issues, low self-esteem, guilt, shame, grief, and substance use and addiction that may be leading to overall life dissatisfaction. Some examples of how these symptoms might show up in your life include panic attacks, feeling unable to get out of bed or get things done, feeling disconnected or uninterested, feeling isolated, lacking happy and healthy relationships, not feeling like yourself, having nightmares or flashbacks, or having suicidal thoughts. Visit my FAQ page for more information.
Each week, you can expect a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can be exactly who you are - leaving any shame or embarrassment at the door. You’ll have the space to talk about whatever it is you’re ready to address. My clients often say that I provide a balance of unconditional support while also challenging them when needed, which reflects my overall approach in the therapeutic relationship. Our lives are often a balance of accepting things we cannot change and working to identify and change the things we have control over. We’ll work together to explore what that looks like for you, while learning new skills and creating the changes you want to see.
Therapy is not a magic cure-all, and it can be hard work at times, but I am here to support you along the way and make that effort with you if you’re ready. If you have more questions or are ready to get started, contact me to set up your free consultation call.
